The True Spring Palette

Warm through and through, medium in depth, bright in chroma: that is True Spring’s full specification. Some schools call it Warm Spring, and either name points at the same thing — the season where the warm undertone runs at full strength, with nothing greyed and nothing darkened. Its conventional metal is gold.

The palette

Five verified names carry the season: golden yellow, coral, camel, grass green and turquoise. It is a compact list with a clear spine. Golden yellow, coral and camel form the sun-side trio; grass green and turquoise add two brighter, fresher notes. Even in a list this short, the names agree with the axes — every one of them is warm-leaning, mid-toned and clear.

Conventionally avoided

• Black — deeper than anything this medium-depth season carries, and heavier than its bright chroma wants beside it.
• Burgundy — dark and weighty against a medium, clear palette; the depth axis rules it out.
• Blue-based pinks — cool in undertone, the direct opposite of this season’s warm axis.
• Muted dusty colors and dusty muted shades — one family, twice named, and the doubling makes the point: greyed chroma is the clearest mismatch of all for a bright season.

A closing note

No border in this system is a cliff edge. The seasons adjacent to True Spring share most of the same wardrobe, and a colour rarely stops working the moment a label changes. That is why the finder publishes its point spread alongside the result — the margin is part of the answer.
